SPLOST ELECTION JUNE 21 UPDATE

STATE OF GEORGIA OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR ATLANTA 30334-0900 Sonny Perdue GOVERNOR: ThanK you for taking the time to make me aware of your concerns about a SPLOST election recently held in Bibb County. It is important that we who have been entrusted with the responsibilities of state government know of issues such as this one.In order to assist you in the best way possible, I have referred your message to Secretary of State Cathy Cox, Georgia's chief elections official, for her review. The direct address and telephone for her office are:214 State Capitol Atlanta, Georgia 30334404-656-2881http://www.sos.state.ga.us/Again, I appreciate your writing and hope this will help to address the issue you have raised.

I have deleted my name and address for security reasons, but this is the letter by email that I received from Governor Perdue's office about election fraud allegations in the recent SPLOST election. I have complained that a statutory deadline for filing a petition to contest an election does not negate the fact that fraud took place in the conduct of an election by election officials. I have also received a letter from the State Attorney General by mail that my complaint has been assigned to another delegated person. Oh the red tape of government is mind boggling for sure. Now, I will tell you that a Mr. Theodore Lee of the Ethics Division just blew off the conduct of elected officials by conveying the message that people should know that elected officials do not tell the truth!

DO NOT FORGET THAT WE HAVE ANOTHER ELECTION NEXT TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2005 FOR AN ESPLOST. I AM VOTING NO. IF YOU WANT TO PAY MORE SALES TAXES, AND DO NOT CARE ENOUGH TO VOTE THEN YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN WHEN YOUR PRICES BECOME MORE INFLATED.
