KATRINA TURNING POLITICAL IN LESS THAN THREE DAYS!

Well here we go, the Liberals are on message with their talking points. Hardball, Chris Matthews, was hard at work with Andrea Mitchell talking about President Bush and critiquing the response efforts.

1. Now it is global warming at fault.
2. If we were not at war, we would have more National Guardsmen.
3. Then we have to have the states rights' issues debated, and how
important it is to have FEMA (which Andrea had to emphasize that we
owe Clinton for building the agency into what it is today).
4. Now, that EPA is lifting the refinery standards for fuel oil because we
are experiencing a disaster unseen before in our history, it will be less
than a week before the liberals start complaining about the pollution.
5. And then, we had Ron Reagan, Jr. come on (now this was all what I
watched on MSNBC at 5:00 pm) and interview a journalist on the
ground in MS. Then this journalist gets a car mechanic on the
microphone that said we need a new President. I wonder how long
the journalist had to shop for someone to criticize the President.

This is not the time to make a disaster political, but I suppose when you
are not in power, that you will resort to behaving in this manner. A journalist from the Washington Post told Chris Matthews that tomorrow they will start talking about global warming being at fault in a bigger way. And of course, global warming is the fault of the Republicans. yada yada yada

You know, you do not hear the media pointing out that the Governor of LA is a Democrat or the fact that all of the states get Homeland Security money. Where in the devil is their own evacuation plans? You know, I hate to say it, but if we had the same disaster in Georgia, it would be the same mess because the tax dollars never go where they are supposed to go.

If I did not have obligations at my business, I would volunteer to go to the disaster area. Where in the tarnation are all of the liberals from Moveon.org to aid the Coast Guard and National Guard? Oh, I forgot they are busy writing the talking points for the media! Oh, and where is Rainbow PUSH and the NAACP and Farrakhan to help out their brothers and sisters in this disaster? Everyone of these groups do nothing but complain, complain and complain some more. Because you can bet that if they were there helping out, it would be a media event.

IF A CONVENTION HOTEL IS NEEDED THEN PRIVATE INVESTORS SHOULD BUILD IT!

In the Macon Telegraph today, the Macon-Bibb County Convention and Visitors Bureau has a list of conventions and meetings brought to Macon for the fiscal year July 2004 through June 2005. Once again, our leaders are on a march to put the taxpayers into debt by wanting to help finance a convention hotel. If a convention hotel would be profitable in Macon, private investors would build it.

We have hotels with high vacancy rates most of the year in Macon, and until these rooms are at full capacity there will not be a private investor that will step up to the plate to invest in an expensive convention hotel. Government does not belong in business because it does nothing for the welfare of its citizens. If we back a convention hotel, then we will have the burden of the cost from here on out. I have yet to find a convention hotel anywhere in the United States that makes money.

We need to take care of what we have in Macon, and not take business away from the hotels that have invested in our community. It is mind boggling to see a City that has to borrow money to make payroll that is looking for ways to get further in debt. If you could not pay your mortgage payments on your home, do you think there would be a bank that would allow you to cosign on a family member's new home? Well this is the same situation, we cannot pay payroll here, but investors in this community want to use our bond rating to borrow money for a convention hotel. I am all for developments in the community, as long as tax dollars are not involved.

This is a natural disaster unlike any we have had in the United States. The displaced residents need our assistance with housing, clothing and food. Here is a link for the Red Cross.

JESSE JACKSON HUGGING CHAVEZ

Chavez offers cheap heating oil to United States. Why should we asasinate a terrorist when we can hug one? This is the current talk now on FOX News. Pat Robertson was bold, to say the least, to say that we need to knock off Chavez of Venzuela (afterall this makes the Liberals cringe even though abortion is ok). But Jesse Jackson, as usual, is showing his ignorance of the seriousness of the terroristic threat that Chavez is to our country.

AN HONEST PAN HANDLER IS BETTER THAN A DISHONEST POLITICIAN

This was just too funny to pass up, since we are discussing passing a panhandling ordinance in the City of Macon, after a similar ordinance was passed in Atlanta.

MICHIGAN-BALLOT INITIATIVE WILL END UP IN COURTS

Many people want a ballot referendum on the ballot November 7, 2006 to put an end to affirmative action for college admission into colleges in Michigan. A circulated petitition resulted in 500,000 signatures that exceeded the required 317,000 signatures. This link provides the article that I am referencing, and emphasizes that this may have to be decided in court because the legislature is deadlocked.

OUR LIBERAL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS ARE A FAILURE

I am concerned, as most parents no doubt are, that no matter how much money that we throw into education that it will be a failure because government is not the proper educator. I found this website that lists some critical papers on education and the journals are entitled "Journal for Critical Education Policy Studies."

"THE SWORD OF MILITANT ISLAM"

If you want to read a good website that gives powerful statistics about the explosive growth of Islam throughout the world, this is a good place to start for your research of what terror we are facing in the United States and abroad.

http://www.masada2000.org/islam.html

This is also relevant to the post about the Million Man March coming up in October. This movement, in my opinion, by Farrakhan to recruit members to Islam is a terroristic movement and should be dealt with.

FOR FAMILY OF LINDA POOLE'S

Madison-Jefferson County Public Library420 W. Main Street812/265-2744

This library is where I obtained my first library card and it is the first public library in the Northwest Territory. (And before you ask, I was not the first person to check out a book). Madison, Indiana is the birthplace of me and my family. Madison is a beautiful town located on the Ohio River, and one of the most historic towns in the Northwest. This library is still used today! I must correct this post, as this library was moved to its present location in the 1930s and later renovated, but it is still the oldest library in the Northwest Territory. For those that are looking for a wonderful place to travel to, and see the magnificent architecture of this town that was a bustling town that was the gateway of the new frontier along the Ohio River, you can check out the websites and order a travel brochure. Clifty Falls State Park is spectacular with its high cliffs and waterfalls. As children, we were told not to go to the falls when we had family reunions, but my cousin, Joyce, had her mother's camera and took our pictures sitting with our legs dangling over the huge cliffs. My mother and my aunts were horrified when the pictures were developed, and we learned that we had left behind the evidence that told on us! Ha!

This is link to the Means Family of Scotland. My mother, Ruth Means Alexander, descended from the twin brothers, Alexander and John, who moved to Jefferson County, Indiana in 1798. Anyone else that is interested in our family that came from Scotland is, of course, invited to click on the link as well. Perhaps, you will be inspired to trace your ancestory and who knows we may be related. If you have a free spirited Irish mindset, then we are kin in spirit!

BIBB COUNTY LIBERTARIAN PARTY MEETING

Photo of Michael Badnarik, 2004 Libertarian Presidential candidate. Michael fought to be on the ballot of 48 states, but I did not know who he was-did you? The media suppressed Michael, and he and the Green Party candidate for President were arrested for trying to gain assess to the Presidential debates. This is not the United States that our founders envisioned when the Constitution was signed. Political offices were never meant to be made into lifetime careers, and we are a government of the people and for the people, and this foundation that we built the United States upon has been sabotaged.

David Corr is the Chairman of the Bibb County Libertarian Party, and he invited me to attend a meeting tonight at the Texas Cattle Company. I had the pleasure of meeting the Georgia State party leader, Mark Mosley, and the 2004 Libertarian Presidential candidate, Michael Badnarik. I was able to get a personally autographed copy of Mr. Badnarik's book entitled: Good to be King The Foundation of our Constitutional Freedom. Michael is running for a US Congressional Seat in Texas in 2006, and I believe history will be made next year when he becomes the first Libertarian elected to the House of Representatives. Everyone deep down is tired of the status quo, and wants for government to shrink in size, everyone except of course the parasites that want government to be their caretaker.

Will Linda Poole join the Libertarian Party? I happen to agree with David Corr that if the Republican Party would do their job, there would be no need for the Libertarian Party. I will just leave it at this, which is that I also agree with Zell Miller's view point of being a Christocrat. My allegiance is to Jesus Christ, and I will leave it at that.

"POLITICS, POOLE STYLE"

There are some that get the Macon Telegraph for the comics, there are some that subscribe to it for the news (cough, cough, cough), there are some that have bird cages to line, and my family subscribes to the Macon Telegraph because there are a few talented journalists employed there. Competition would be the best thing that could happen, but it is doubtful that we wll ever see a new newspaper in Macon. Thank goodness that we can now converse on the Internet and for those that want to learn more about the world that we live in, knowledge is only a search and keystroke away. I do not wish to offend anyone that I come in contact with. For those that know me, they know that they never have to worry about me talking bad about them behind their backs because if I have a problem with anyone they hear it face to face. If we were all plain spoken, and respectful of one another's rights, would this not be the grandest place to live? We live in a World where editorial boards are not fair and balanced, as evident in my race for a public office. Mr. Richardson did not know me at all, and he did not care to know me. Who are these people that want to be the judge and jury for citizens and attemt to deny voters of their rights to freely choose a candidate for office? The last time I read the Constitution, I did not see an Article that gave the Press anything other than a First Amendment Right, but that does not mean that they have the right to infringe upon mine and yours rights when partaking of their rights.

In the Macon Telegraph today, columnist Charles E. Richardson, again tries to cover up his prejudices by digging himself a bigger hole that he cannot seem to get out of. I decided to run for Bibb County Commissioner District 2 just one day before the qualification ended in 2004. I am Linda J. Poole, a South Bibb CPA, and a conservative that was called by Debra Lyons and Charles Bishop to ask if I was interested in running as a Republican candidate in this particular district.

I made the decision very quickly to say the least, and paid my qualifying fees the next day to run for office! As a CPA, I was disgusted with the mishandling of taxpayers' money by our City and County. I sure did not know what I was getting myself involved in, but it was a rude awakening to say the least.

When I went before the Editorial Board of the Macon Telegraph, I was sitting at a table at first with Ms. Stinson, Editor and Mr. Richardson. I could tell right away that Mr. Richardson could care less about why I was running, what my educational background was or any thing at all because he was not taking one single note! I started talking about my degrees, my business and the fact that I teach CPA review courses that involve some governmental classes.

Only when, I realized that Mr. Richardson could care less about my qualifications, did I say anything about race issues in Macon, Georgia. I said that I was wasting my time because I knew that Bert Bivins, III would get the Telegraph's endorsement because he was the black Democrat candidate. Mr. Richardson answered that, Mr. Bivins would get the endorsement because I had not attended any County Commission meetings. I then got angry and pointed out that I do not get paid to attend Commission meetings, and that Mr. Bivins has been in the position for over nine years and in the previous year missed over 20% of the meetings! When Mr. Richardson said "we are aware that Mr. Bivins misses...these meetings" that is when the fireworks began.

I brought the City into the interview at this time, and said that Ms. Ponder, President of Macon City Council, had been quoted as saying "white people had better get used to it because it is white money and black power running Macon now." This is not exactly a proper thing for the sitting Council President to say, and I let it be known in no uncertain terms. I talked about Affirmative Action in jobs, and said that I had been denied jobs not because of not being the most qualified candidate but because of Affirmative Action that will place a less qualified candidate in a position because of quotas. I said that I never dreamed that I would see Affirmative Action in Politics!

Needless to say, I did bolt out of the meeting, and anyone would do the same unless they are just too darn pc to stand up and be proud to be white. I am not a person that picks a fight, but I am not going to be a door mat for anyone. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life than the day that I was interviewed by Mr. Richardson, and I am speaking that from the heart. I actually believed that in light of the City's financial woes, that I would embraced as a CPA stepping up to the plate to run for office. And in fairness to Mr. Richardson, Randall Savage, et al, from WMAZ was just as biased against me and all of the Republican candidates for that matter. Where I perceived racial prejudice from Charles Richardson, I, likewise, perceived liberal bias from Randall Savage. The media does not need to be in the business of endorsing political candidates at all!

As long, as we have black leaders in the City that align themselves with the NAACP and march along side Jesse Jackson then we are never going to move forward. You see, it is people like Charles E. Richardson, et al that are living in the 20th Century and continuing to fight in a Civil Rights Movement. I am living in the 21st Century, and just wondering if the blacks will ever be satisfied to have equal rights and not strive to play a game of winner take all. And again, I remember well when Vice President Cheney visited Macon that WMAZ could not cover him for over a couple of minutes! So the point of this post is to point out why the media should not be in the business of endorsing political candidates, and hopefully the message is conveyed that Macon has a problem with race issues, and a problem with political division.

This is a copy of my letter to Viewpoints on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 that followed a column written on Tuesday August 23, 2005 by Mr. Richardson:

Needed, new editorial board
I am sick and tired of columnist Charles E. Richardson's slanderous remarks against me. I am a citizen in Bibb County and work hard to run my business. He needs to look in the mirror to see one of the biggest racists in this county. I brought qualifications to the county to run for a a Bibb County Commission post, and because of racism Mr. Richardson could not look beyond color to assess my qualifications.
Yes, I got angry and left a meeting with the editorial board of The Telegraph, and I would do it again. I should have never wasted my time talking to such a liberal and biased group of people when running for office. The Telegraph is part of the problem with race relations in this community, definitely not the solution.
I ran in a district that is 65 percent black, and demographics are a determining factor for the person who gets elected in this county. Rick Hutto asserted that on talk radio the other day when ask if he would run for mayor, he replied that he could not win because of demographics.
Chairman Bishop won his race not because he is a Republican, but because of his race.
Did Linda Poole create this problem in Bibb County? No, I did not, as this county has a disease of racism that has plagued it for years. People like Charles Richardson have helped add fuel to the fire.
I say that instead of Macon needing "a few good politicians" that Macon needs a new newspaper to replace The Telegraph with a new and vibrant editorial board.

MACON GEORGIA IS MY HOME TOWN

Macon, Georgia is located in Bibb County Georgia and is facing serious financial problems. Because of race issues and political divides, we can not move forward as a community. There are those that deny this because of political correctness, apathy or a lack of intelligence and refuse to see things for what they really are. In order for things to change, everyone must look at things with rational thought and seek a solution for the common good. Please feel free to sign into blogger.com and register to post on my blog.
